Since 2012,
the Rodotopi Guitar Ensemble “The Passaron” has been an officially recognized
non-profit Association. It is composed primarily of graduates, students, and
enthusiasts of classical guitar, as well as other musicians and individuals
passionate about music and culture—most of whom reside in the wider region of
Ioannina. The Association’s mission is to provide its members with
opportunities for musical collaboration, while also contributing to their
overall musical and intellectual cultivation.
Rooted in the belief that music is a universal language capable of promoting peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding among people, the Association aspires to use music as a vehicle for supporting actions that promote respect for cultural diversity, environmental protection, assistance to socially vulnerable groups, and the recognition and appreciation of both social and individual differences.
The Ensemble has participated in over 100 concerts and cultural events in Greece, as well as internationally, including appearances in Bulgaria and Poland (as part of an Erasmus+ project), and in Costa Rica—in collaboration with the University of Costa Rica and Calasanz College, under the auspices and with the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
